12 Steps to a Successful Slideshow Production

Saturday, 28 December 2013

Planning is the key word for creating a successful slideshow. This is not difficult, but does require time and effort on your part before hiring a professional slide show creating company to create your unique video slideshow. Here are some steps you can follow to insure a beautiful slideshow production.

1. Determine how long you want your slideshow to be. The length of your slideshow will determine how many photos you can use. If you are using the simple fade-in fade-out style, you can usually use about 80 pictures for a 10 minute show. And that is about all most audiences can handle. However, if you choose a slideshow creating company that has more creative elements included in the slideshow production, then you may only be able to use 50-60 photos for a 10 minute slideshow. However, the upside of this is that a more creative slideshow can last longer and seem shorter.

A 20 minute creative slideshow can feel like only 10 minutes, where a 10 minute fade-in, fade-out slideshow can feel like 30 minutes to a lot of people. As we all know, we don't always enjoy viewing one another's photos for long periods of time. So, the more creative the show, the longer it can play and your audience will not even realize how much time has passed.

For instance: Sands of Time Multimedia Creations did a video slideshow for a church that went on a mission trip. They were given hundreds of photos to work with and the end results were a one hour video slideshow presentation. As the youth gathered around to see this, they were not at all excited at the prospect of watching photo after photo for one straight hour. However, as soon as the video started they noticed immediately that this was not your photo-after-photo slideshow. Their attention was captured from the beginning to the ending as they laughed, cried, and cheered. At the end they were surprised it was over and stated that they had no idea an hour had passed! They all purchased their own copy of the video. Creativity - the key to a truly great slideshow presentation!

2. Pleasing Your Audience - If possible include some photos of the people who will be viewing the presentation. Everyone loves to see themselves light up on the big screen! It will make them feel a part of your special event and keep their interest peaked to see who will be showing up next.

3. Decide Your Theme - Choosing your theme will help you choose your photos.

A. Do you want your slideshow to span the life of an individual?

B. Is more than one person's life going to be featured in this slideshow? If so, do you want their lives shown separately or simultaneously?

C. Is the slideshow going to focus on a specific aspect of the person's life such as
a sports video, a particular hobby, or a particular quality aspect of a person's life such as in a Mother's Day Slideshow or Father's Day Slideshow?

D. Is the time frame very specific as in a vacation slideshow? Or Christmas slideshow highlighting the current years events?

4. Choose and Organize Your Photos- These are very crucial steps and also very challenging. After all, almost every photo of Jane or Bobby is truly unique and beautiful and shows different character qualities. Sometimes it's good to have a friend help you because they can be more objective. As cute as Jane or Bobby is, most people get the point after about 3 - 5 pictures in a certain time frame. Organize your photos chronologically or by theme, or depending on your slideshow, both. Ask a slideshow consultant for advice

An example for choosing your photos - Becky is doing a slideshow of her daughter's graduation. She wants the photos to be from the day she was born to the day of her graduation. She goes through her photos, picks out her favorites and organizes them according to the year. Then she goes back and selects her very favorites from her favorites. Sometimes a third time is necessary, by then you will need to determine which ones MUST be in the slideshow and which ones can be omitted.

5. Choose Quality Photos - This will help you in the choosing process. Ask yourself these questions:

A. Is the photograph clear, not blurred or hazy? The blurring and haziness will be enhanced the more enlarged the photo is.

B. How is the lighting? Too dark or washed out?

C. Is the photo too grainy? Grainy photos do not scan well.

D. Has the photo been cut in an odd shape? - Although these work great for scrapbooking, they work poorly for slideshows.

Though some photographs can be somewhat fixed and corrected the better quality you start with, the better the finished product.

6. Choose Your Captions - Captions can add to the appeal of the picture for the audience to help them understand what is happening in that particular photo. They can also add to the humor or sentimental value of the video. Not every picture should have a caption; for the most part the photos should be able to speak for themselves. Your audience may not enjoy the slideshow as much with too many captions. However, in certain circumstances, such as creating a slideshow for a loved one who is away serving in the military captions can be quite effective.

7. Choose Your Music Carefully - Hollywood producers will tell you that the right or wrong music can make or break a movie production. Choose the music according to the feeling you want to give your audience. Happy, sentimental, funny, nostalgic.... it's all in the music. Choose music that means something to you or the person you are creating the slideshow for. Check the length of the music to the number of photos you want to use and the type of slideshow you are choosing.

8. Add Video Clips - Adding short video clips to your slideshow can help break up the slideshow and 10 - 30 second video clips can enhance any slideshow.

9. Use Voiceovers - This can add a sentimental touch to any slideshow. This can be done using a video camera, or with some digital cameras that take video. Just be sure to tell your slideshow company that you just want to use the voice, not the video.

10. View Samples, Choose Your Slideshow Company, and Place Your Order-There are many slideshow companies to choose from, so how do you know which one is right for you? Always view the online samples. If you are looking for the simple fade-in, fade-out slideshow, any slideshow company can do that. If you want the Ken Burn's effect with the pan and zoom this is very nice and some slideshow companies can do that. However, to narrow your search even more look for unique and creative slideshows. Very, very few slideshows can do this. Combining the Ken Burns effects with creative elements, scenery, and backgrounds make the best slideshows. Creativity and uniqueness...key elements to any truly stunning slideshow.

11. Back up your photos. Are you sending film photos? Make sure you have copies of your photos or the negatives. Sending scanned photos on disc? Make sure you have a copy. Sending videos - make a copy. Slideshow companies are not responsible for what happens to your photos while in the mail. And unless you have a back-up, photos are irreplaceable.

12. Pack your photos with care. Use proper packaging material. Always place 5x7's or 8x10's between pieces of cardboard. Make sure the photos and other material is packed tightly to avoid moving around inside the box. When packaging your photos place them in Ziploc baggies. This will protect them from any possible water damage and also works great for separating your photos chronologically. You should also place your discs or videos in Ziploc baggies. And always insure your package. Although lost or damaged mail is a rare occurrence, it's always best to be prepared. And always opt for priority mailing services. The less time in the mail - the better.

This is where your slideshow company now takes over. They should be in constant communication with you and you should have a good idea when to expect your slideshow to be finished. Your slideshow creators should work closely with you to help you receive the ultimate slideshow. With Sands of Time Multimedia Creations your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Why Should You Choose Organic Vegetables and Fruits?

Thursday, 26 December 2013

Perhaps you have heard the umpteenth time that it's good to consume organic vegetables and fruits. But have you ever wondered why is it so? If not, it's time that you realize the importance of organic food and make it a part of your daily routine.

To begin with, organic food doesn't come laced with chemicals, growth hormones or additives. Organic farming helps to grow food organically in a way that the nature intended. As organic vegetables and fruits are grown with a conscious care for the health of the plants, the soil, and the people who will consume them, it makes sense to switch over to such food items from your conventional foodstuffs.

Though the steep price tag of organic vegetables and fruits often deter people from buying them, it pays to shell out a couple of extra dollars to buy some organic product now and stay healthy. Remember - conventional foodstuffs often contain a harmful level of insecticides, pesticides, herbicides, or other poisons that get into your body and accumulate there, which in turn leads to diseases, illness, and may even cause death in some extreme cases. So, why save a little today and end up paying hefty medical bills later? Even after keeping the present scenario of the economic slowdown in mind, voting for organic vegetables and fruits surely pays, as you would be able to save money in the long run by cutting down on your medical expenses.

Another factor to consider is the water content of the organic food vs. the conventional food items. As the water content dissipates on cooking, it's often seen that non-organic produce reduces in size more as compared to the organic food items. So, although there is almost a 20 per cent price difference between non-organic and organic food items, the later is cheaper to buy given the fact that you get about 26 per cent more of dry matter (less water) in this case.

Last but not the least is the benefit of organic farming to environmental issues. As organic farming does not make use of harmful drugs and pesticides, you can make your own contribution to the environment by saying yes to organic vegetables and fruits.

So, what are you waiting for? The need of the hour is clear: Choose Organic. Give your nod to organic vegetables and fruits today!

How To Save on Health Insurance

Monday, 23 December 2013

With health care costs soaring through the roof, the cost of health insurance premiums are increasing as well. Health insurance is a necessity, however, when you consider the costs of one visit to the emergency room, surgery to set a broken bone, scans, lab and other costs. When your budget is limited, how can you keep the costs of your health insurance premiums down? There are several steps you can take to reduce your health insurance costs and still maintain adequate medical coverage when you need it.

First step is to consider what health insurance options you have. Does your employer offer a group medical benefit? Many employers (and/or labor unions) offer health benefits to full-time employees. Group health insurance is usually the cheapest way to get medical coverage; an employer can negotiate with health insurance companies to get a group health plan at cheaper rates. In addition, many employers will pay part of the premium, reducing your health insurance cost even further. Another consideration is whether your spouse has health coverage available through their employer? If so, compare your health benefits plan to that of your spouse, and decide which health plan is the better buy. It may be possible to have one spouse carry family health insurance coverage and the other drop their health benefits. Many employers have multiple health insurance options, so review these plans as well. Choose the health plan that best meets your needs at the cheapest rate.

If no health insurance coverage is available through your employer, there are other ways to obtain health insurance coverage. Individual and family private health insurance policies are available. Shop and compare benefits and premiums from each health insurance plan. If you and your family are generally healthy, the new Health Savings Account (HSA) may be worth consideration. The HSA is an account that allows you to save tax-free dollars for your medical/health expenses. Similar to an Individual Retirement Account (IRA), you are limited in the amount that you are allowed to contribute each year; however, with the HSA, withdrawals for health expenses are not penalized, and no tax is paid on the withdrawal. When paired with a health insurance policy that has high deductibles and low rates, the HSA may be ideal for you. Save money in the HSA for deductibles and co-pays, and you're set.

For those over 65 or permanently disabled, Medicare is available through the federal government. The original Medicare is an 80/20 plan (they pay 80% of eligible expenses and the insured pays 20%) with an annual deductible and a monthly premium. Supplemental health plans are available to cover this deductible and co-pay. These supplemental health plans are usually private and the insured pays a premium. In addition to the original Medicare plan, there are Medicare HMOs. In these Medicare HMO health plans, the Medicare premium is paid to an HMO to provide benefits to the insured. HMO plans are more restrictive in that patients must get care through a network provider, but often these plans cover more prescription drugs and preventive care than original Medicare does.

Recently some employers have offered lower premiums to employees who do not smoke cigarettes. This is currently a controversial topic for some, but it certainly may begin a trend. In the future, employers and their health insurance providers could offer reduced premiums for employees who maintain normal weight, exercise regularly, and receive certain wellness benefits. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle lowers the risk to the health insurance company that they will be paying big bucks in health care down the road. And health insurance, as any other insurance, is all about risk.

Bottom line: going without health insurance coverage is a big risk for you. Find health coverage that you can afford just in case Murphy comes knocking at your door!

Overcoming the Side Effects of Abuse

Friday, 20 December 2013

It's hard enough to come to terms with the actual impact of abuse, but the side effects just add to the weight of recovery.

The impact on self belief and confidence can be massive. It can also make a huge dent in self-respect. It becomes all to easy to withdraw into a world of self-abuse - drugs, food, alcohol and other substances that harm the body - when you feel pretty worthless.

I'm not sure there is an easy route to overcoming abuse. For me, abuse was a dark place covered in layers of webbing I didn't really understand. Sometimes I'd behave in a way that wasn't warranted by a situation and not know why. Other times I'd shrink into the background and hope no one would notice me. Sometimes, for days, I'd go into a black mood and just want to avoid contact with the world.

Of course this makes you a difficult person to employ. Keeping a job or getting enough money to get by on can then become a problem. When money is low and your self-worth is poor it seems that everything around you pulls in and leaves you feeling like a victim.

If you're in that place in life where things are awful and you want to change it, I want you to know you can change things. Like I said above, there may not be an easy route, but there is a route.

A good place to start is to accept that as of today you are in charge of your life. From this understanding start to think about what you'd like the rest of your life to be about.

Who do you want to become?

This is an important question. In the past you were a victim. But the past does not have to equal the future. If you don't want to continue to be a victim then you have to route out all behaviour in you that is a victim or encourages people to bully you.

This doesn't mean you have to become the bully. If you learn from your experience and ensure you never become a person who forces anyone to do anything against their will you have made a bold choice. Find people who have the attributes you would like.

If you want peace in your heart find people who have peace in their heart and ask them how they manage it achieve it. If you want happiness find a happy person and ask how they do it. If you want love, find a loving person and ask how they manage to be loving even in the hardest circumstance.

If you don't feel you can ask, then read books, listen to CD or watch people.

When you start to explore you'll begin to find there are billions of teachers in the world, all with something to share with you. All you have to do is be willing to let go of the past and make a positive step forward.

With love and best wishes for your journey.

Choosing Organic Baby Clothes Will Protect Your Baby's Health and the Environment

Tuesday, 17 December 2013

All parents think that their baby is the most precious thing in the world and all parents are right! From the moment of conception, parents want to protect their child and make sure that the little bundle of joy has the best of everything. Parents will naturally ensure that anything that could potentially harm a baby or its environment should be avoided at all costs. And for some that means going organic. But while most people are aware of things like organic baby foods and lotions, there is a growing awareness about organic baby clothes.

Everybody knows that baby's skin is more delicate and sensitive that adult skin, and as such baby clothing is often made out of softer, gentler fabrics and materials and more and more parents are becoming aware that the clothing a baby wears can also affect respiratory development due to non-organic fibers such as cotton being treated with pesticides. It stands to reason then, that there are more parents than ever choosing to buy organic baby clothes.

By choosing to buy organic baby clothes for their child, parents reduce the risk on possible exposure to toxins that could potentially irritate and damage the baby's sensitive skin. Because crops are farmed in non-conventional ways, pesticides and herbicides are eliminated and a better, cleaner and healthier quality of cotton is produced. This in effect can be most beneficial to those working with the crops, and those buying the finished product of the crops. With children being exposed in many aspects of their lives to pollutants, organic clothing is a major step forward when deciding to provide a healthier, cleaner and more natural living environment.

More baby stores are providing customers with the option of purchasing organic baby clothes than ever before. And while the clothing may be a little more expensive to initially purchase than regular clothing items, the quality is such that it will usually outlast its non-organic competitor. While regular cotton will start to break down after approximately 20 washes, organic cotton will not start to deteriorate until it has been washed 100 times. Although cotton seems to be the fiber of choice for many parents, hemp, wool and silk are also available organically, and can make a perfect alternative to non-organic materials. By carefully choosing what their baby will wear, parents are helping the environment in many ways, as well as helping their baby have the best start to a healthy life as possible.

The Effects of Drug Abuse on Your Teeth

Saturday, 14 December 2013

Drug abuse begins impacting your body after just a short period of time. While each drug has a different impact on the body, including the teeth, there are two types of drugs in particular that cause quick and significant damage to your mouth and teeth. The use of two highly addictive substances, cocaine and methamphetamine, can lead to the type of drug abuse side effects that dentists often identify and subsequently refer to as meth-mouth or cocaine canines. Abusing either of these two substances can turn an otherwise healthy mouth into a cavity of disastrous proportions.

Drug Abuse, Stimulants, and Teeth

Whether snorting cocaine in its powder form or smoking the substance, the chemicals in cocaine can wreak havoc on the system, and it all starts inside the mouth. A healthy human body needs a number of nutrients to run efficiently; ingesting powder cocaine on a daily basis will strip the body of its essentials, such as vitamin C and calcium. Cocaine can also suppress the appetite. Because healthy teeth and gums thrive on these two vitamins and minerals, which are stripped by the cocaine and then not replaced because the individual has no appetite, the impact of drug abuse on the mouth is twofold. Gingivitis is likely to appear as the first condition in a series of oral problems, such as bone loss and tooth decay. Tooth loss is also a common occurrence, and it only takes a few months of use to reach the point where teeth are so badly damaged that they fall out or need to be removed. Abscesses on the gums can also form a primary indicator of deeper infection. Using crack cocaine produces the same impact, only faster. According to some sources, the symptoms can appear in as little as a month.

The negative effects of smoking methamphetamine bear the same consequences in your mouth as cocaine addiction and other drug abuse, yet with an extra added twist. Unlike cocaine, meth is composed of numerous chemicals that not only affect dopamine secretion; these chemicals are also capable of stripping tooth enamel, or the tooth's protective layer, in a matter of weeks. Methamphetamine addiction can cause those who use it to stay awake for days at a time without eating, which augments the process of tooth decay. Like cocaine, methamphetamine is an appetite suppressor, starving the body in more ways than one, both in substance and sustenance. With this particular type of drug use, taking vitamin C and calcium pills alone will provide little or no help as the body needs a balanced diet in order for these supplements to be absorbed and work efficiently.

Drug abuse and addiction are treatable and many people live healthy sober lives after rehab. The human body begins to heal the moment the substance abuse stops, so it is never too late to start a sober lifestyle. Many dentists can help the body repair the damage, reducing long term risk for gum disease and tooth loss.

"Health Fitness Equipment" Doesn't Really Focus On Health, Does It?

Thursday, 12 December 2013

"Health fitness equipment" is a tricky phrase. When you first see it, it probably makes a whole lot of sense. Health is derived from fitness and fitness is developed by using equipment, right? Well, not really... in fact, you could become really fit and never touch a piece of gym equipment for the rest of your life.

Another aspect to this phrase is the word "health." On the whole, semantics and philosophies set aside - most people see fitness as health, and believe when they get fit - they are now healthy. As I have pointed out in previous articles, health always comes before fitness and fitness must be attained in order to maintain health. Sounds a little confusing, doesn't it? In fact, sounds like a play on words, with a hint of nonsense thrown in for good measure I imagine. I admit there's an air of silliness when explaining this principle, however, as silly as it may sound - it is 100% true.

Health is made up of several factors, with fitness playing its part as well. However, in order to maintain great health, you have to create health on the inside first, which will then flow outwards to your physical form. This is why the phrase "health fitness equipment" is so lop-sided. It only focuses on the equipment used in fitness workouts - that's it. How about the phrase "health" equipment? Is there such a thing? Absolutely!

When I hear the phrase "health equipment" I think of juicers, blenders, food processors, skin brushes, Sisal gloves, etc. The only problem is when everyone else hears it - they don't think of the same stuff! My brother used to be a telephone field technician for over 10 years, and he said he must've visited almost every single house and building in his area of the city where he worked. In his time there he noticed, almost every single home or apartment he stepped into had at least one piece of workout equipment in it. At the same time, he almost never saw a juicer and if he saw a blender, it either had a fine layer of dust on it or it was placed right next to the alcohol where drinks were made. That was literally the extent of the health equipment in peoples' homes, and we wonder why disease is running rampant, as more and more of us succumb to heart disease, cancer and all rest.

Type in the phrase "health fitness equipment" into any search engine and you'll get back a ton of sites dedicated to showing all the best stationary bikes, elliptical machines, and stair masters on the planet. Don't get me wrong, all this stuff is cool and it has real value... but it isn't necessary and it isn't as important as what you put into your body first. You can put your money together and buy a great food processor or blender that you'll use many times to create healthy, nutritious meals; instead of using a bunch of equipment at the gym you have to wait and fight for or buying a piece of equipment that ends up becoming a second closet.

It's just as easy to go to a local park or building and climb the stairs there, rather than using a stair master in a gym with stale air. In fact, it's probably better. You're outside and breathing in the fresh air if you're in the park. If you're climbing up the stairs of a building you get to use the elevator on the way down after your workout - what can beat that?! Seriously, getting "Fit" in America has become synonymous with expensive, and it doesn't have to be. In all honesty, the bulk of your "wellness budget" will probably go on your food - it shouldn't be going towards the equipment you use to become and stay fit.

Legendary salesman Zig Ziglar was famous for saying, "Never settle for the 'get-by' when in the long run, the good costs less." When you buy quality products, they work better and last longer and that's the kind of value most of us look for when we're considering a purchase. Why settle for a stationary bike in a gym, when you can buy a quality bike and go riding outside where you can see real people and real sites. Why go to a gym to walk on a treadmill when you can strap on your sneakers and walk around your neighborhood and go meet new people see great visuals in your own background.

Am I against gyms and fitness equipment? Hardly, I think everything has its place. But I also know that there are many more overweight people in America today than there are people who aren't, and this is with an explosion in gyms, gym memberships and new fitness equipment. We've forgotten the reason we get fit is to be able to be more active. To be able to go do whatever activity we want to, including sexual activity as well. Too many men are falling prey to this belief that their male mojo withers away by the time they reach their 40's... are you kidding me? If you're eating correctly, staying active, and are physically and mentally fit - you should be ready to rock and roll whenever the moment presents itself. This goes for women as well.

If we are going to focus on phrases like "health fitness equipment," than I believe we need to do with the proper perspective. Let's get into "health" first, build that up and get fit in the process. There's never been a time in history when so much has been available to us to be able to get into the best physical and mental shape, any generation before us has ever seen. Take advantage of it and get busy building up your health and fitness... in the proper order of course.

Group Health Insurance Plan For Your Business

Monday, 9 December 2013

What is the cover offered on group health Insurance policy?

Group health Insurance plans can be defined as an insurance coverage through an employer or other entity that covers all individuals in the group.

Group health insurance is something that everyone wishes they had since groups get better rates than individuals when it comes to health care (insurance in general). Many people who are self employed or want the best rates incorporate to give the insurance company the look of a larger corporation and they try to obtain cheaper health insurance rates. Group insurance is discounted when compared to individual health insurance so getting on a group plan is a plus. Keep in mind that group insurance is just part of the equation. Deductibles, co pays, and other variables go into the rate you get, so individual health insurance or family health insurance may be just as affordable in the long run.

A group health Insurance policy is an Insurance cover which is arranged by an employer for his employees. This type of Insurance cover enables the employer to pay only part of the premium for the Insurance policy covering his employees.

Essentially Group health Insurance plan is an Insurance policy applied for by the employer to cover his employee's medical expenses. Formerly an employer was expected to 100% employee benefits but now an employer only has to contribute just a part of the employee's insurance premium.

With the new law passed by Congress, the employee's net expenses for the group health insurance policy have been greatly reduced.

How can businesses benefit from this policy?

It is a well known truth that group health insurance plans are greatly valued by employees, most employees even place group health insurance policy second after monetary compensation. Organizations who have in place such policies have confirmed that group health insurance policies have enabled them employ and retain the best hands in their business. Employers are not left out from enjoying the benefits of group health insurance plans; most employers have not yet purchased health for themselves. They stand to get a better and cheaper insurance plan if they purchase Insurance via a company than if they were to purchase an individual health insurance policy.

A group medical insurance policy offers an additional special bonanza in the form of tax incentives for the employer and employees. For instance, as an employer you stand in a position to reduce your payroll taxes, but providing your employees with group health Insurance as part of a whole payment compensation package, thereby deducting 100% of the premium that you would have had to pay on a qualifying group health insurance plan. Also your employees would be able to pay their part of their monthly premium using pre-tax funds.

Although an employer is required to pay some percentage of an employee's individual premium, which ranges from 25% to 50%, depending on the state's laws and the insurance company. Also, if the employee wants to extend coverage to a spouse or dependent, the employer may choose to pay a percentage of that cost, but is not required to do so. Without ant question group health insurance is the most affordable health insurance available today, so if as an employee you're given that option, you should really consider it, Often, spouses and children can be included under such a plan.

What are the factors you need to watch for a good group health insurance policy?

Employers may choose to offer free-service insurance plans, preferred service supplier or a health maintenance plan. Available on the Internet are group health insurance instant quotes, most health insurance organizations also provide group health insurance quotes via their network of agents in addition of making it available for visitors to their offices.

One of the factors an organization need to watch out for in a group health insurance policy is the bottom line. It is no more or less than simply this: group health insurance is less expensive than a couple of individual policies. This is the truth. But, it still is not cheap, in fact no health care program in America is.

Employers may use the guidelines below to select a health insurance plan that meets your needs:

    • Study the websites and brochures of the health insurance companies you have short listed to engage.

    • Make a comparison of their services, costs and what they pay.

    • Find out if there are services or illnesses that are excluded from the policy.

    • Take notes of the starting and ending dates of the insurance policy.

    • Check to confirm when the cover starts as some health insurance companies only cover you from your third payment.

    • Stay away from policies that limit your choice as to whether you can choose a period to stay with them.

    • And finally stay away from any group health insurance policy that only covers limited diseases.

Employers are encouraged to choose Group health insurance plans that suits their needs, whether it is the preferred service supplier, traditional insurance cover or the health maintenance plan.

It can be brisk walking for 10 minutes. For some, it can be jogging an extra 1 mile. It can also be a hardcore weightlifting. So the point here is you have to begin your fitness level and you must only make an assessment to where you want your health fitness level to be, say next year or next two years. Ensure that you set realistic goals that are very tough but are still attainable.

Improving your health fitness can involve too many ways. You yourself can select and participate in different activities that you will surely enjoy. It is a good way to be healthy while getting a self motivation aside. If you love and will take pleasure in playing basketball, then let yourself be engage in that sport maybe twice a week. And if you hate gymnastics then do not force yourself to do it. Find other exercises that will promote a healthy heart but that will keep you motivated and enjoyed.

It has been a long time that our society, viewed doing exercises as something awful that we always have to stay away from it. And spinning the entire situation into something that is positive will do great help in achieving very promising health fitness goals.

Now, how many among us take some time to meet our own needs on a normal basis? I guess, not all of us. We have our families and career that make us busy as a bee. You then should take some time to find value in yourself for at least once a week. Grab this opportunity to do something, new things for yourself. You can simply soak in bubble bath yourself or read a very interesting book. Try as well to take a pastime that you will enjoy or will let you learn new skills. A quality time like this will surely help you get relaxed and relieved stress. It is one great importance of health fitness.

This isn't all about exercise either. Proper way of eating also plays a vital role in health fitness. You for sure will feel very sluggish and irritable if you will consume large amounts of carbs and sugar. They will provide you a momentary boost of energy but not for so long. Consuming fresh fruits and veggies will help you sustain your energy levels all day long. This will let you consume fewer calories but you feel full all day long.

Health Fitness is an essential issue that most of us need to focus our interest on. Because it influence both our physical and our mental well-being. As a final point, it gives us the chances to be the healthiest we can be.

Be Careful When Shopping For Health Insurance Online

    Sunday, 1 December 2013

Without a doubt the Internet has made life much easier for consumers, especially when trying to obtain the best deals when shopping for health insurance online. The ease of use and the ability to quickly compare the offers from competing health insurance providers makes it almost to fast and hassle free to purchase health insurance online. However, there are some important facts, questions and answers you or any consumer searching for an online health insurance provider should research before quickly making a decision that could lock you into a health insurance policy that may not be right for you.

Health insurance like most other insurance products and services contains a variety or jargon and terms that you should become intimately familiar with prior to signing up for a policy or health insurance plan that you may have found online. Most, in fact almost all, health insurance companies will require you to partake in a physical before they consider underwriting you for a policy. Basically, this underwriting process consists of your taking a physical, which the insurance company then verifies against the information you filled out on their application for accuracy. The reason for this full disclosure is so that the health insurance provider can determine the rate or premium they will charge you for your health insurance coverage and it's also for your protection so that the insurance company cannot refuse you treatment for a condition at a later time. In some minor cases when obtaining health insurance online you may not have your information verified against the actual physical.

As mentioned above, when searching for health insurance online there is a chance that some insurance providers will not do their due diligence in the beginning (comparing your physical to your completed application or questionnaire) and will instead play the odds that you won't get sick, injured or suffer some other health catastrophe. In the event that you do get ill and need their services they will then scrutinize your records with the hopes of finding a reason not to pay your health insurance related claims. If for some reason they find what they consider a valid discrepancy they may then attempt to not pay your claim or cancel your health insurance completely. Remember, this is not all insurance companies just a extremely small percentage that may do this practice or tactic to strong arm you into not receiving your proper health insurance coverage.

When shopping and comparing health insurance online make sure any application you fill out contains full disclosure and a complete and accurate assessment by you regarding your health otherwise you may find a future health related claim denied. When filling out your health insurance online application always list every illness, broken bone, accident, operation, medication you have taken and any other ailment you may have suffered from during your life. Failure to do so could nullify your insurance policy should you ever need to make a claim against it.

In some cases the health insurance agent for the company or provider you are considering will fill out the health insurance application for you. In the event he or she does this you must make sure and double check it for accuracy. Remember agents get paid based on the business they provide to the insurance company so always make sure no shortcuts were taken to get you initially covered by the health provider. If your future claims get denied due to an error on your initial application it doesn't really phase the insurance agent hat helped you in the beginning.

Finally, after you're approved make sure you double check your health insurance online application for any errors that may have occurred during and after the insurance company accepts your paperwork. The difference between a no and yes answer could prove costly in the future should you ever need to file a health related claim against your health insurance provider.

Children's Commissioner's Report Says Child-On-Child Abuse Is Shocking

An official report by the Office of the Children's Commissioner for England says that "shocking" sexual violence is being carried out by children against other children. The report says that the perpetrators could be 12 or 13, and rape is seen as "normal and inevitable" in some areas, especially among gangs. It also claims that bullying and sexist attitudes exist across the whole country.

The Research conducted by the University of Bedfordshire into sexual violence in gangs (It's wrong but you get used to it) suggested two-thirds of young people questioned (65%) knew of young women who had been pressurised or coerced into sexual activity.

The report is the result of a two-year inquiry by the children's commissioner into child exploitation and gangs. It is being published alongside research on young people's understanding of consent to sex, and a study on the pressures on young people who have been raised in gang-affected neighbourhoods. It says legislation is there to protect children but agencies from the police to social services need to become far better at spotting children at risk and providing them with the necessary protection.

Effects of Drug Abuse on Your Emotional Health

    Tuesday, 26 November 2013

The effects of drug abuse on the body are many and varied. These effects are both physical and psychological. Often there is an underlying mental health condition that has not yet been diagnosed that can be linked to drug abuse. Although using harmful substances may appear to alleviate symptoms in the short term, one of the effects of drug abuse is making emotional health worse. Also, abusing drugs can actually cause certain mental health disorders. This is especially true if an individual has certain hereditary or environmental risk factors that could lead to mental illness. The use of drugs can push these individuals into a mental illness.

Effects of Drug Abuse: The Impact

    Overall Effects of Drug Abuse

When an individual abuses drugs over a long period of time, the brain actually changes the way it functions. This is because the drugs have taken the place of naturally occurring chemicals in the body that affect brain functions, including emotions. Drugs attach themselves to certain receptors that work in the brain to regulate mood. Normally these receptors are attached with certain neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, which work in the brain to raise mood and make a person feel good. That can explain the general feeling of euphoria shortly after taking a drug, as that substance works in a similar manner on receptors as the naturally occurring chemicals.

Effects of Drug Abuse on Mental Illness

Approximately half of all people with mental illness abuse drugs. Those who suffer from mental illness have an imbalance of chemicals in the brain, which is why they may turn to drugs as a form of self-medication. Once drug use begins, the body stops producing certain chemicals, as the drugs fool it into believing that enough are already present in the body. When the drug is stopped, the individual's mental illness symptoms are usually worse than before, as the chemicals are even more out of balance than before the abuse of drugs. Alternatively, a new chemical balance could be the result, leading to mental illness where none had previously existed.

    Drug Abuse and Emotional Health

When quitting drug use, many withdrawal systems mimic mental illness symptoms. This makes it hard for those who suffer from dual diagnosis to quit, and the effects of drug abuse can be seen very clearly. Dual diagnosis is when a substance abuse issue presents itself concurrently with a mental health issue; this can be very difficult to diagnose and treat. Professional treatment by a provider who is familiar with treating dual diagnosis could be effective, as they will likely be able to treat both disorders at the same time.

Warning Signs of a Drug-Abusing Employee

    Saturday, 23 November 2013

As an enterprising entrepreneur you need to have the ability to spot people subtly. At times you find people present a chaotic mix up. I'm afraid you would find it hard to know something going amiss in your employee because of your everyday chores. Or it might be too late. Let's be positive and make a clear thinking. If you ever suspect employees of substance abuse, find out what led you to such a notion? On close observation, you may find fall in performance, absenteeism, risky behavior, unusual physical signs, etc.

    Declining work performance
Bodily and mentally fit employees are a boon to your organization because of their productivity. A healthy worker abides by the employee code of behavior set by the organization. However, everything goes awry once your employee's overall performance declines. You might be shocked at such a drop in performance and would be prompted to take it seriously. The employee who was punctual is now a late-comer, and leaves earlier or remains absent for many days, takes long breaks for taking food, likes staying alone, cannot concentrate on work, makes wrong judgments. All this leads to severe drop in performance - a warning sign of substance abuse.

    Increased and unexplained absenteeism
An employee stays absent from workplace in a day or during a shift and you do not get a convincing explanation for it. The employee fails to account for because his general disposition becomes unpredictable; may lie to the managers/supervisors and reply awkwardly; finds fault with others including spouse. Such unusual behavior should lead you to suspicion of drug abuse.

    Engaged in risky behavior
Another sign is that the employee becomes highly irritable, disregards social manners in the amity of co-workers as well as at work; ignores safety norms; tends to be risky being reckless while at work and thus endangering life of all. He accuses coworkers and superiors for failure or difficulties at workplace.

    Avoidance of co-workers
A substance abusing employee shuns co-workers. Puts excuses in case of failure on any count - be it work or home. This is because of the fact that the unusual changes might be noticed by others for which he feels embarrassed. General personal character becomes clumsy. It is a warning sign of substance abuse on the first sight as you find it completely different from what you had seen earlier.

    Certain physical signs
Substance abusing employee suddenly starts quarreling, scolding and shouting at others. He ignores personal hygiene, dress code at workplace. There is drastic drop in body weight because of loss of appetite. There is change in the pupils - if the substance is an opiate (heroin, cocaine), the pupils shrink and if it were amphetamine they are dilated. Personal grooming is poor. He becomes tired as the effect of drug ceases.

Necessity of drug testing at workplace
You can't afford to take it for granted if you notice these symptom(s). If you ignore, you expose the health of other employees as well as your business to great risk. It affects their work ethic and ultimately leads to decline in profitability of your enterprise. Strictly and constantly monitor your employees' general and working behavior. As a matter of policy of the organization, make periodic substance check-up mandatory. This is a preventive step.

When you mark these sign(s), you need to be proactive. Consult your human resources managers and take the necessary steps immediately. This is critical as apart from impacting the performance of the individual employees; it is likely to bring out in its wake several legal, health, financial implications and a drop in the profitability and repute of your organization in the corporate world.

How Broken is the Mental Health Delivery System?

    Thursday, 21 November 2013

Most psychotherapists agree that the mental health delivery system is broken. Where two or more psychotherapists are gathered together, complaints abound. While this article addresses the broken mechanics is the mental health delivery system, it does not even begin to address the mishandling of individual cases.

People, in general, and psychotherapists, in particular, are afraid to "buck the system." Fear masquerades in a variety of acting out, defensive behaviors, such as anger, denial, criticism, withdrawal and aggression.

This is especially true when discussing the managed care system. Most psychotherapists in the US have chosen to practice as in-network providers for the insurance companies. That means that the therapists have agreed to a discounted fee, in hopes of receiving more referrals, because they are in-network. It also means the therapist usually must have their services authorized prior to seeing the clients.

After all, our present mental health delivery system, which has been around since the early 1980s, has developed inbred power, not only in individuals but in the system itself. I can remember the anger of my clients 25 years ago, when the found their insurance company dictating the amount and kinds of service they could receive, but within five years, as a nation we accepted the managed care concept without a fight.

Therefore, I am challenging a very large, money-hungry system, established to feed on itself, but not adequately supply services that meet the needs of its members or the realistic needs of the health care providers.

    So I challenge anyone to deny that our present mental health delivery system is fragile and broken. Here are eight reasons why;

    1. Diagnosis is made by professionals who are not in intimate touch with those individuals who come for help. Insurance companies and third party payers demand a medical diagnosis before they will reimburse for a claim, starting with the first visit. It is unrealistic that under the present delivery system today that most psychotherapists can positively and accurately determine the diagnosis code required.
    2. The diagnosis criteria often change from one edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual(DSM) to the next Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, the psychotherapists diagnostic bible. For instance, a common presenting problem is identity disorder. Yet identity disorder is no longer listed in the DSM, so therapists may have to "fudge" a bit on the diagnosis...if they want to get reimbursed. Further complicating the situation is the fact that not all DSM diagnoses are reimbursible. Because many insurance companies will not reimburse for autistic spectrum disorders, therapists become creative.
    3. Thousands of individuals who need therapy are not receiving it. In these economic times, small businesses are dropping health insurance as a benefit. Because of the high cost of insurance for even large corporations, many are increasing the cost of insurance to their employees, and many benefit packages have very high deductibles and larger co-payments due at the time of visits.
    4. All therapists are not created equal, when it comes to their skills. I recommend that the terminal degree for all psychotherapists (except hypnotherapists) would be a Ph.D., not necessarily in psychology. Many agencies use B.A. degreed graduates or even interns "to do therapy," because they are supervised by licensed clinicians.
    5. Costs of our present mental health delivery system are often prohibitive, while third party payers often offer fewer benefits with higher deductibles for mental health. Mental health still appears in all practicality to be exempt from the Parity Law. My personal clients generally have seen higher co-payments for specialists (mental health is a specialty), while being given unlimited visits. What my clients do not realize is that some of them are paying almost my entire fee, leaving the insurance companies responsible for $10 or $15 per session in many cases.
    6. Managed Care companies often outsource their customer service to India, Argentina or the Philippines, and benefits are quoted inaccurately by people struggling with basic language skills.
    7. Some of the largest managed care companies simply require a completed computerized form to obtain an authorization for service. Upon submission of the form, initial visits or additional visits are granted automatically without any human review. I assume that there is a pre-set criteria, set by the company, that must be met for this to happen. In some cases immediate authorization is not given but forwarded for further evaluation by a live body.
    8. Most important of all, mental health care is not directed by the client and the health care professional. Until 2010, therapists could see individuals for a specific, often limited number of sessions based upon their insurance benefit package and/or the authorization from the insurance companies. Furthermore, many therapists feel that therapy is something that is done to the client, rather than building a partnership for brief therapy treatment planning.

If this does not mean the mental health system is broken, what does?

Health Care Reform is Not Healthy

    Monday, 18 November 2013

HEALTH CARE REFORM IS NOT HEALTHY!

LET'S CALL IT WHAT IT Is - HEALTH INSURANCE MONEY ALLOCATION AND RE-DISTRICTING

Health insurance premiums are driven by the success or failure of actual health recovery maintenance and the costs required to deliver of service. Harris L. Coulter, Ph.D., of Washington, DC, and editor of the 8th edition of the HPUS,is an internationally renowned medical historian and author of over 30 books and essays, which include: THE DIVIDED LEGACY, a four volume epochal history of medicine, which covers its origins to present day.

"Society today is paying a heavy price in disease and death for the monopoly granted the medical profession in the 1920's. In fact, the situation peculiarly resembles that of the 1830s when physicians relied on bloodletting, mercurial medicines, and quinine, even though knowing them to be intrinsically harmful. And precisely the same arguments were made in defense of these medicines as are employed today, namely, that the benefits outweigh the risks. In truth, the benefits accrue to the physician, while the patient runs the risks."-Harris Coulter, Ph.D., (Divided Legacy Vol 3)

There is no question we need reform in the areas of disease elimination improvements in Health, better delivery of health care when it is needed and health insurance parity. Personally, am all for reform, but let those reforms ring with the clarity of Truth and illuminate our way through the fog obfuscation.

Overall chemo-therapy and radiation are documented to be an absolute failure in the so-called war against cancer. The long-term survival rate of cancer patients using orthodox therapies remains abysmal and the statistical reportage is obfuscated.

Refer to: New England Journal of Medicine, "Progress Against Cancer," May 8, 1986 by John C. Bailar, III and Elaine M. Smith, and a ten-year follow-up "The War on Cancer" which appeared in Lancet, May 18th, 1996, by Michael B. Spoorn. Therein is published in leading medical journals, but they remain as the only therapies and pharmaceutical companies enjoy federal mandate.
Stated simply you cannot poison a sick person well.

HEALTH CARE REFORM is a meme used to numb the mind and sway political process but has little or nothing to do with health and certainly is neither, reform in the ways the public perceives, nor what they dearly need.

Merely by changing who and how much they profit for health services is only a small fraction of the underlying problem and ultimately it's you who pay. Current Congressional debates will not offer true reform of our systemic disease CARE, but strengthen insurance profits and control.

The fruit of the healthcare tree, while certainly abundant, is altogether rotten, because the roots are corrupted by disease. If the Food and Drug Administration which regulates both FOOD and drugs while having far reaching powers that are beyond the Constitution of the United States of America, is powerless to effectuate the genuine change required to modify the so-called health industry.

Nor can the FDA provide the reforms by its far reaching power and control, then how can we expect it to come from mandates from an under educated over lobbied congress?

Give credit where due, the FDA has been effective in causing millions of tones of ground meat and spinach. A little too late perhaps as the FDA has done nothing to stop chemical companies from pouring oceans of deadly toxic, and known carcinogens on our crops.

"Water and air, the two essential fluids on which all life depends, have become global garbage cans" ~ Jacques Cousteau

HOW CAN YOU HAVE HEALTH IF WE DON'T HAVE CLEAN WATER AND AIR?

We must stop poisoning our earth with unnecessary toxic chemicals, which leaches out the elements and minerals building blocks of the cells of our bodies, and support and teach the farmers on bio-dynamic farming.

Why is there no respect for and replication of how the Hunzas and several other tribes on earth, wholive to be well over 120, and disease free.

These tribes drink the water which comes off of the slow grinding of the glacier across mountain terrain and gives minute quantities of every element and every mineral. Their cells have
access to all the natural building blocks of life and therefore remain impervious to invasion and disease.

Health and Old Age Places with High Longevity: Hunza Pakistan the area of Hunza in Pakistan which has a high level of longevity. A Guide to Shangri-La: The Leading Longevity Sites on Earth

For Americans and the world at large where the crop land is awash in chemicals the minerals and elements are leached out of the soil and the roots of our food crops are have no way to chelate them so that we can digest them into our bodies.

What follows is a well known symptom called pica, and we are constantly looking for something to eat to satisfy the hunger of the cells and this leads to obesity and disease on a national scale.

There are solutions, but the FOOD administration, has done nothing to listen to, study, implement, nor promote the use of Bio-Dynamic Farming, which is proven to produce greater volumes of crops far healthier and do not poison our water aquifers.

One fairly recent proactive move; the FDA and the FTC have enforced the little known Federal Law under USC Title 21 Part 56, INFORMED CONSENT. This activity is evidenced by the too frequent drug commercials and advertisements. To name one example the anti depressant drug, ABILIFY, is known to cause death and suicide.

To our detriment and demise, the FDA has a tunnel vision partisan perspective and always reactive, rarely proactive when a patient actually dies from using an FDA approved drug, they routinely avoid any blame and state "there is no conclusive evidence to prove it was because of the drug." No drug company is ever charged with a crime and no executives, nor doctors, are criminally charged for manufacturing, nor for prescribing the drugs.

WHY? Because the drugs are FDA approved so it would mean they are culpable.

However, when a substance derived and used by another Healing Art, i.e. Homeopathy, is found to be highly effective in combating and eliminating a disease such as cancer, or reversing the side effects of AIDS, a stroke, or Cystic Fibrosis, to name a few, the FDA routinely states there is no scientific evidence to support the claims moves swiftly to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

We must continue to strengthen the education of the public on sound fundamentals of health maintenance.

We must allow for access and coverage to all branches of the Healing Arts. This is known as the ECLECTIC. The allopathic cartel are not the arbiters of truth, nor have they proven to be honorable stewards, nor have they provided viable solutions where other forms of healing arts have been successful, in some cases thousands of years.

    THE PROBLEM

The problem is that over the past 67 years, a Federal Agency, the Food and Drug Administration, created in 1938 as an agency to ensure that Food, Drugs and Cosmetics moving in interstate commerce, were pure, unadulterated, contained what was stated on the label and safe for human consumption.

Over the years the FDA has undergone a metamorphosis and has become a threat to the civil liberties and public health of Americans, as well as added incredibly to the cost of the products it regulates.

The FDA has a long history of using the resources of the agency to conduct Gestapo type raids on medical clinics, terrorizing patients, staff and practitioners, seizing quantities of vitamins, manuals and harmless natural products, issues completely inaccurate, indeed, deliberately mendacious publicity releases slandering practitioners, nutritional products and innovative drugs and has so far departed from the purposes for which it was created as to become a menace to both the public's health and their civil liberties.

Under 80 or more years of Allopathic domination, the standardized American health care system is unable to:

    (1)Control the resurgence of Tuberculosis in the country;
    (2)Control the rising rate of Cancer deaths;
    (3)Control the rising rate of coronary artery deaths;
    (4)Lower the infant mortality rate;
(5)Find an effective cure for AIDS.

There are available answers to all these deficiencies, but none of them are embraced in Allopathic Doctrine.

The question presented is, if there is any legal control over this vast agency and any way citizens can take legal action to cause the agency to be brought under control and be forced to comport itself in accordance with the intent of Congress in creating it, and the additional question of whether or not citizens who have been harassed by its Ultra Vires activities may sue for damages or other relief.

If such legal action is possible, is such legal action the best, or the sole means which can or should be employed to bring the agency under control.

A further question may be what or who is responsible for the agency getting out of control and what, if anything, can be done to ensure that the agency does not get out of control in the future and once again become a menace to society.

    ANALYSIS

The agency in question, the Food and Drug Administration, is an out of control bureaucracy, undertaking to perform some proper regulatory functions but devoting many of its resources to illicit functions not contained in its enabling legislation and not permissible under the constitution.

The agency [which was] directed by Commissioner David Kessler, M.D, JD, who assumed the position after the enforced resignation of Joe Young, PhD, has done little to change its behavior except put on a fresh face from time to time.

An investigation revealed widespread corruption with many officials, taking large bribes, not to mention every member of Congress who are heavily lobbied by industries it was supposed to regulate, and the entire agency was demoralized and ineffective.

The agency has openly and notoriously formed "partnership" with private trade associations and special interest groups for the purpose of aiding and abetting non-price predation in the health care market.

The agency has lawful jurisdiction over some Foods, Drugs and medical devices which are in interstate commerce and has no jurisdiction over the practice of medicine or other healing professions.

Despite this rather clear distinction, the agency repeatedly attempts to interfere with health care practitioners by means of its enforcement powers and by liaison with state regulatory agencies, and by conducting Gestapo type raids on the offices and clinics of health care practitioners who practice in Schools of Practice other than the Allopathic School and by attempting to suppress the use of techniques of healing and of products for use in health care which are not within its regulatory jurisdiction.

    THE BUREAUCRATIC ANTI-COMPETITIVE CAMPAIGN
WHICH POSSIBLY INADVERTENTLY or INTENTIONALLY CREATES GENOCIDE

This claim is born of deliberate suppression of health technologies which are non-toxic, effective and inexpensive; to name only a few in critical areas, these include:

    I. CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES
EDTA Chelation - Adrenal Cortical Extract

    II. STROKE PREVENTION AND REHABILITATION
Oxidative Therapies / Hyperbaric Chamber / Ozone
    EDTA Chelation
    Human Growth Hormone

    III. CANCER AND AIDS
IAT, Laetrile, L-Arginine, Black & Yellow Salves, Gerson Therapy, 714-X, Homeotherapeutics, Krebiozen, Essiac, Immunostim, anti-neoplastin, Hoxey, Glixoxide, Revicci Therapies and many others, too numerous to mention here.

In HEALTH UNITED STATES, an annual publication by the federal government, our national death rate from cancer is approximately 2,500,000 people per year and the rate is rising. Assuming a cost of $80,000 to $160,000 per person over the last 20 years, that figure represents $200,000,000 to $370,000,000 per year and 50,000,000 lives, or $4 TRILLION to $7.5 TRILLION dollars funneled from our collective economy into the hands of the medical pharmaceutical cartel. Is it any wonder, then, why we cannot find a cure?

In addition One of the first targeted, the FDA, or "Big Medicine," since the early 1900's, in this country was Dr. Royal Raymond Rife. His powerful evolutionary microscope, capable of shattering cancer cells and viruses with radio frequency vibrations, was destroyed and his books burned by federal authorities and he was imprisoned.

Some other embattled pioneers include, but are certainly not limited to: The healing arts of Ethno botany, Naturopathy Chiropractic and Acupuncture and Chelation, which all met intense resistance and violent opposition by federally protected orthodoxy.

Dietmar Schildwaechter, Ph.D., MD, was invaded in his home office in a militant style by state and federal authorities in the late 1980's for introducing a cure for squamous cell cancer, which was proven in a 20-year study in Germany.

Andrew Ivy, MD, a pillar of the A.M.A., who came back from Germany after participating as a panelist in the Nuremberg war crime trials with a cure for cancer called Krebiozen, had his career shattered.

    James Privitera, MD;
Ed McCabe, author of Oxygen Therapies, jailed for 547 days; a best selling author.
    Hulda Clark, ND;

There too many more which are not listed here. These gifted pioneers brought relief to a suffering humanity and were ruthlessly attacked by medical authorities and scientific dogma. Each paid a high price but distinguished themselves by their courage and resolves to stand up for their convictions, even in the face of overwhelming opposition, loss of license and jail. For a closer look at the inner workings, read: THE CANCER INDUSTRY: the Classic Expose 'on the Cancer Establishment, by Ralph W. Moss, Ph.D.

The FDA regularly approves dangerous, often lethal pharmaceuticals. The side effects of these potentially deadly, or harm causing pharmaceutical drugs can only be fully discovered by wide-spread use. This is despite the average $250-500,000,000 and 15 years to bring these drugs to market, including phase trial tests, trying to prove the elusive "efficacy" requirement of the F.D. &C. Act.

Typically, after one of their highly publicized "wonder" drugs fails, causes death or serious side effects, no FDA official nor PAC member company president, research assistant, corporate official, company doctor, nor testing lab will be subjected to raid, investigation, indictment or jail term.

To the trauma and suffering to the patients and their families and the productive work force, it comes with a hefty price tag.

Both Gaston Naessens and Dietmar Schildwaechter, Ph.D., MD, spent the last 40 years perfecting independent blood tests, which are able to pre diagnose any type of cancer and immune disorders up to two years prior to their onset, with a 1% margin of error. The industrial average false/negative ratio remains extremely high by comparison, yet these new tests are ignored or met with resistance.

THE RELEVANT SERVICE MARKET AND SUBSTITUTABLE ECONOMIC COMPETITORS

    The Eclectic Practice of Medicine*

In 1906, Dr. Rolla Thomas completely revised the 1866 teaching manual by John Milton Scudder, and revised it yet again in 1907. This was the culmination of a thirty-year frenzy of published creativity at the Eclectic Medical Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was the main teaching text at that school until the1930s...the college closed in 1939.

"...it were better for the doctor if he can forget that his patient has typhoid fever, pneumonia, dysentery, or whatever he may have, and study the conditions that are present. This may be wrongs of the circulation, of the nervous system, of the secretions, of digestion, of assimilation, or wrongs of the blood, but whatever the basal lesion, it must be overcome if the patient is to be benefited by medication."

    THE MONOPOLIZATION OF MEDICINE

The health care industry during the Progressive Era is well documented in academic studies and can reasonably be accepted as a given here without describing in great detail how or why it occurred. However, it was funded largely by the Rockefeller and Carnegie fortunes and was done to guarantee a dominant place in health care for the products of the petrochemical industry.

The Allopathic School of Medical Practice was picked to become the dominant survivor of the monopolization because it was:

    (1) Numerically the largest,

    (2) Had no well established system of doctrines which made it antagonistic to the use of a system of therapeutics based on petrochemical therapeutics,

    (3) Was represented by a fairly well organized and active Trade Association which was receptive to a take over by the funders,

    (4) Urgently needed a large infusion of cash and political influence to stop the growing public acceptance of its economic rivals and competitors,

    (5) Had little to offer its members without such an infusion of cash and political influence,

    (6) Were headed by a staff which welcomed any help - motivated by absolutely no idealism and almost entirely by avarice, the staff of the AMA was easy to enlist in the monopolization and proved extremely efficient - particularly Morris Fishbein, whose role was pivotal and whose service spanned several decades of the monopolization.

One of the chief monopolization strategies was through take over of medical education and the schools or universities which offered this. There were several hundred which offered a two year course in Allopathic Medicine and granted the M.D. degree, which was the sole credential necessary for practice at that time.

Competitive medical universities operated by Homeopathic and Eclectic interests were fewer, but at least 75 existed - some well established and endowed.

The monopolist could have selected any of these; they were all easy targets, but the Allopathic School of Practice had a void in its therapeutic system which made it ideal for the monopolist and the Homeopathic and Eclectic Schools had therapeutic systems which offered little room for the
    incorporation of petrochemical technology.

Many Americans, at least those who could afford to do so, went abroad for their medical education, initially to England or Scotland but eventually to Germany where State supported Universities had better facilities and foreign students who could and would pay tuition to augment the salaries of the faculty were welcomed to the extent that lectures were offered in English as well as German to facilitate and accommodate these foreign scholars.

To a man, the initial faculty of John's Hopkins, the first of the Medical Universities to be established and funded by the monopolists were graduates of German Universities and brought to the University both the medical and the political orientations gained as students at German universities, which they passed on to the students of John's Hopkins, most of whom went out to become the faculties of other American medical colleges and further incorporate both the medical and the political orientations of German universities into the graduates of American Medical Universities funded by the monopolists. Those orientations remain a part of Allopathic medicine in the United States today.

This is primarily important in considering the role of the Allopathic School in genocidal activity, which the German medical profession entered into without protest between 1934 and 1945 under the National Socialist Regime in Germany.

Federal control started in earnest around 1938 with the Pure Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and this became what it is today in 1962 with the Kefauffer Amendments to that Act, which amendments included for the first time, an efficacy requirement which gave the FDA far more power to control both drugs and information about drugs.

The Federal Act was not intended to give the agency any control over the practice of medicine or other health care professions and both its language and many decisions of Federal Courts make that clear. Nevertheless, the agency has made and continues to make increasing excursions into attempts to control the practice of medicine.

Since 1910, a combination of some practitioners and some manufacturers of goods involved in this market has attempted to attain a monopoly in the market to the exclusion of substitutable economic competitors.

Some of the goods in this market, particularly those consisting of synthetic petrochemical pharmaceuticals, are preferentially used by the practitioners involved in the monopolization to the virtual exclusion of other goods.

However, a large amount of the goods involved may be purchased and used by consumers without the recommendation or authorization of health care practitioners and the consumer is free to consult such practitioners or not as he or she sees fit, in most circumstances.

Licensure of health care practitioners is a function of State governments, all of which have a system of examination and licensure of some health care practitioners. There is some variation from state to state in which practitioners are licensed and which are not licensed.

There is universal licensure of physicians and surgeons, osteopathic physicians and surgeons, dentists, chiropractic physicians and there is considerable variation as to the licensure of naturopathic physicians and Oriental medical practitioners (acupuncturists) on a state by state basis.

Despite the state by state variation, all of these practitioners practice in a virtually uniform fashion all have trade associations and specialty societies which are national in scope and all receive fairly standardized training.

Licensure for physicians and surgeons was initially begun around 1890 on a state by state basis at the instigation of the American Medical Association, which is the trade association for the Allopathic School of Medical Practice.

When the process was begun, State Legislatures typically created three separate State Boards of Medical examiners, to examine and license medical practitioners of the Allopathic, Homeopathic and Eclectic Schools of Medical Practice; in many states the Osteopathic School was also given a Board of Examiners.

Initially, the licenses granted to these practitioners was to treat any human disease, disorder or condition by drugs, surgery or any other means and all persons not so licensed were forbidden to undertake such activities for compensation.

Shortly thereafter, other health care practitioners were also given licenses which carried out certain exceptions to the universal licensure of physicians, such as Dentists, Podiatrists, Pharmacists, Nurses, Midwives, Physiotherapists and eventually, Acupuncturists.

The campaign for licensure carried out by the AMA was for the purpose of attaining for its members an exclusive license to practice health care for compensation and to exclude all substitutable economic competitors from the market.

This was not accomplished as State Legislators usually saw fit to license their economic competitors as well in order to maintain competition in the Relevant Service Market.

The campaign to attain exclusive licensure not having succeeded, the AMA next attempted to bring about a merger between the competitive schools of medical practice; that campaign is ongoing and has succeeded in some states to a degree, although all states continue to license health care practitioners who are substitutable economic competitors to allopathic physicians and have clearly articulated policies encouraging competition between different sorts of health care providers, set forth in state legislation.

The AMA and its component state medical societies, nevertheless, continued with unrelenting efforts to monopolize health care and have been convicted of Antitrust violations repeatedly.

The Federal Trade Commission brought an enforcement action against the AMA and its component societies resulting in information concerning anticompetitive misconduct and subsequently a private enforcement action by 4 chiropractors resulted in further permanent injunctions against anticompetitive misconduct.

The later action, Wilk, et al. v. AMA was based upon a campaign conducted by the AMA through its Department of Investigation and Council Against Quackery "to first contain then eliminate Chiropractic".

During the litigation, the Department of Investigation and the Council Against Quackery were hurriedly disbanded by the AMA and files of these organizations were handed over to a private organization which, funded by the Pharmaceutical Advertising Council, continues the anticompetitive campaigns as an ostensible private organization, which is actually an AMA front organization. Its anticompetitive activities have intensified since the injunctions against the AMA were issued and affirmed.

A large part of the plan of monopolization has been and continues to be the suppression of information about health care providers and modalities which are competitive with those of AMA members.

The AMA initially formed a sub rosa organization, the "Health Information Control Council" which had members from several bureaucratic regulatory agencies as members. This was also broken up during the Wilk litigation.

As a part of the Wilk litigation, the Court held that calling a licensed competitor a Quack would constitute an antitrust offense; since that time the AMA front organization has substituted the word "fraud" for "quack" in its anticompetitive campaigns which increasingly are undertaken with State and Federal bureaucrats into whose "hidden agendas" the achievement of monopoly by the AMA and standardization of therapeutics fit extremely well.

During the past 25 years, most of the monopoly activity of this AMA front organization has been with bureaucrats and third party payees, such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield, which are both private insurers and pay agents for governmental programs such as Medicare.

In these situations, these "insurance companies" do not function in their traditional roles as casualty insurers, but rather as cost-plus contract pay agents and, in this role, their activities neatly interface with both the AMA's monopolization efforts and the "hidden bureaucratic agendas" of regulatory agencies.

It is this combination of the AMA, acting through a front organization, the "insurance" companies who are not insuring but acting as cost-plus contract pay agents and the regulatory agencies involved in a "hidden agenda" which in combination, are bringing about and attempting to bring about the monopoly in health care which the AMA has been engaged in creating since 1890.

This combination has already succeeded in dangerously decreasing the quality of goods and services and astronomically increasing their price in the Relevant Service and Goods Market.

This has been accomplished by bureaucratic activity which is directly violative of the clearly articulated policies of the States and has as its purpose both increasing such costs and decreasing the quality of goods and services, and although it is state action, it is not such state action as is protected from Antitrust scrutiny by the State Action Exemption to the Antitrust Laws.

Medical historian Harris Coulter presents evidence to show that disabilities caused by vaccines are often "disguised" under different names: autism, dyslexia, learning disability, epilepsy, mental retardation, hyperactivity & minimal brain dysfunction. Up to 25% of American schoolchildren suffer from "development disabilities". A classic.

'...It is the thesis of this remarkable book that early vaccinations can result in mild cases of sub-clinical encephalitis which, in turn, may well be responsible -- at least in part -- for the increase in autism, hyperactivity, dyslexia, sociopathy, and developmental disabilities, a rise that roughly coincides with the initiation of infant vaccinations. Coulter suggests further linkages to the increase in adolescent crime and suicide, and the decline in SAT scores.' Stanley Kripner, AHP, January 1993.

    Major Holistic Health Therapies

    Friday, 15 November 2013

Holistic health is the state in which we are whole, spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally, in rhythm and in harmony with nature and our environment. So where does anthroposophical medicine or Ayurvedic medicine fit into this? What have biochemical tissue salts got to do with my holistic health and why are homeopaths, naturopaths, herbalists, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, osteopaths, chiropractors, cranial sacro therapists so popular? If you've ever had an acupuncture session, done some qi gong or been to a cranial osteopath, you'd know that you feel better all over.

It isn't just women that are enjoying the benefits of a regular massage these days, men have discovered it too.
We're talking about the benefits of holistic health therapies

We all know the benefits of massage therapy - from the gentle stroke of a lover to a mother's loving touch. It can play an important part in easing a wide range of health problems and is appropriate for almost any situation.
Some of the most popular holistic therapies are commonplace these days. Acupressure, aromatherapy, chiropractic, flower remedies, massage and nutritional therapies, osteopathy, reflexology, shiatsu and lymphatic drainage are everyday treatments that some of us consider part of life's necessities. Gone are the days when these treatments were regarded as little luxuries.

In many ways, acupressure is something we all enjoy when our instincts tell us to rub or apply pressure to a painful or injured part of the body. Developing from this basic awareness, the ancient Chinese discovered that there were specific points on the body that could be pressed in order to relieve pain, tension or discomfort.
Aromatherapy is very trendy these days and it is a readily accessible, subtle therapy that uses highly concentrated essential oils from plants and trees that are used to improve well-being on a physical, emotional and metal level.

Chiropractic therapy manipulates the spine and other joints, and so gently encourages the body to carry out its functions in a balanced way as the spine returns to normal alignment.
The 38 Bach flower remedies are gaining an increasingly popular profile - I'm never without Rescue Remedy, the 5 flower formula that has become extremely popular as a non-addictive, gentle medicine for the treatment of symptoms arising from trauma, stress or accident.
With the increasing obesity of the western world, nutritional therapy is in ever increasing demand. We've all heard "you are what you eat" - it is one of the most fundamental strategies we can adopt to improve our sense of health and vitality and beyond that, we can use it as a therapy that can ease the symptoms of illness.

Osteopathy is an extremely popular system of wholistic medicine that focuses on the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, muscles, ligaments and connecting tissue) and attempts to establish the greatest potential for health by restoring function and mobility to this system. Osteopaths view the person as a unit in which structure, function, mind and spirit need to be in balance for the maintenance of good health.
Reflexology involves applying gentle pressure to points on the feet and hands. The regulated pressure to certain parts of the feet has a therapeutic influence on those organs, glands and parts of the body that corresponds to the reflex being stimulated.

Shiatsu is a dynamic form of body treatment that uses a variety of different kinds of pressure and stretches to stimulate the flow of energy along pathways (or meridians) that criss-cross the surface of the body. It may be regarded as parallel to acupuncture in that it seeks to rebalance and harmonize the flow of essential energy (or qi - pronounced as chi) throughout the system as a whole and so enhances the body's capacity for self healing

This list barely scratches the surface. The benefits of holistic health therapy vary from person to person and the specific impacts are as individual as we are. One fact remains, we all benefit from it.

All About the Health Fitness Business

    Tuesday, 12 November 2013

When you get into this business, you have a lot on your plate. Having a business in general is hard enough but owning your own fitness center can be trying at times.

There is a lot to consider when opening such a business. Some things to know first are:

    1. Equipment- Having the right equipment is the important part if you are going to open a health center business. When you invest the money and get good equipment, you won't have to repair it within the year. Those who purchase used equipment are in danger of having many problems.

    2. Staff- In the health fitness business it is good to be sure to hire enough staff. It is never a bad idea to hire a big number of employees because there is always a need for a staff member for questions.

When employing your staff, be sure that they have experience in the knowledge of health. When people work out, they want to talk to someone who has been working with the equipment. No one likes to talk to someone who has no clue about the equipment.

    3. Money- Make sure that the money is there. You don't want to over extend yourself on equipment and staff. Be sure that you have the right amount of money to see what you want to have happen in your health center.

When the money is there, there is no stress that you have to worry about. In a fitness center, it needs to be a calm atmosphere for people to come and work out.

There are many other things that you need to worry about when you are thinking of having a health fitness business. You may ask yourself, "What happens when the demand falls out?"

The market of fitness will never run out and believe it or not, you can run this type of business from home! Everyone needs exercise in order to survive although a lot of people lack the motivation to get up and exercise.
